Veterans Day Parade
The Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10, with pre-parade ceremonies set for 9 a.m. in front of the historic courthouse (south side) on Third Street in downtown Clarksville. Guest speaker is COL. Jimmy Blackmon, Incoming Brigade Commander for the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade. There will also be remarks by County Mayor Carolyn Bowers and City Mayor Pro tem Geno Grubbs.
This year’s parade theme is “Honoring All Who Served.” with special commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, May 28, 2012 through November 11, 2025, as stated in a proclamation signed by President Barack Obama on May 25, 2012.
There is a change in the parade route and ceremonies this year. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of N. Eighth and College Streets, next to the Sundquist Science Building at Austin Peay State University, with the reviewing stand at the Third Street side of the courthouse. The parade will proceed up College, left onto University Avenue, right onto Main Street, left onto South Third Street, left onto Commerce Street, left onto University Avenue, right onto Franklin Street, left onto 8th Street and back to the APSU parking area.
