Tennessee Urban Tree Care Advisor Training Offered
A training event for Urben Forestry Management and Education Training Volunteers to Care for the Community Forest is scheduled for this fall. This 6-week course will be offered September 4-October 9. Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County Extension office, 1030 Cumberland Heights Road. Classes will be taught by area forestry experts and master gradeners. Classes will cover:
- Introduction to Urban Forestry,
- Tree identification and selection,
- Diagnostics: Tree and People
- Site analysis and Tree Inventory Methods
- Tree Biology
This class will count towards Master Gardener CEU requirements. Advanced Master Gradener training credit is pending. Cost is $50 per person or $75 a couple, if sharing materials. Registration deadline is August 21. For more information, contact Karla Kean at 931-648-5725.
