Household Hazardous Waste Day – A Win for the Community
On Saturday, March 17, Bi-County Solid Waste Management and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation teamed up for Household Hazardous Waste Day. The event was a big success with 540 residents bringing household hazardous waste items to have them properly disposed of.
Clean Harbor, a company that specializes in handling special wastes, was contracted to separate and manage the waste.
“I would like to thank the community for their continued support and involvement. We look forward to expanding this service on a more permanent basis in the future,” stated Pete Reed, Executive Director of Bi-County Solid Waste Management.
The waste collection at Veteran’s Plaza was free to the general public.
