FEMA Opens Local Disaster Recovery Center
FEMA-state disaster recovery centers are open in Montgomery and Knox counties to serve residents who sustained losses from the recent tornadoes, winds and flooding of
April 25-28.
The centers locations and times are:

Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Small Business Administration and other organizations staff the centers to explain disaster assistance programs and help survivors apply for assistance.
Residents who live in any of the designated disaster counties may register for FEMA assistance and get help at any of the open recovery center locations. The counties included in this disaster (DR-1974) are Bledsoe, Bradley, Carroll, Cocke, Crockett, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Henry, Johnson, Knox, Madison, McMinn, Monroe, Montgomery, Rhea, and Washington.

800-462-7585. Online, go to www.DisasterAssistance.gov or m.fema.gov. Before registering, it is extremely important to know the exact dates when damage occurred. You will need to provide an accurate date when you register. It is not necessary to go to a recovery center to register.

FEMA's housing assistance and Other Needs Assistance grants for medical, dental, and funeral expenses do not require individuals to apply for an SBA loan. However, applicants who receive SBA loan applications must submit them to SBA loan officers to be considered for assistance that covers personal property, vehicle repair or replacement, and moving and storage expenses. Applicants who do not qualify for a SBA loan may be eligible to receive Other Needs Assistance grants for these items.
