EMS Week Activities Planned

Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services is preparing for EMS Week, scheduled for May 14 – 21. Citizens will begin to see billboards and photos throughout the community inviting everyone to the week’s activities. All advertising money was paid through donations; no taxpayer dollars have been used.  Activities include:

Saturday, May 14: EMS will host a Community Fun Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Station 21, 1133 Peacher’s Mill Road. Inflatables, static displays, demonstrations, trucks and equipments will be available for public viewing. Door prizes and refreshments will be served.

Sunday, May 15, from 3 to 4 p.m. Clarksville Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church, 2182 Old Russellville Pike, will host an Emergency Services Appreciation and Worship Service. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Monday, May 16, EMS will hold an awards banquet for employees and their guests.

Tuesday, May 17, EMS will do a presentation on the Vial of Life at Ajax Turner Senior Citizens Center. The vial contains important medical information that can assist emergency personnel in administering proper medical treatment. Also on Tuesday, EMS providers will assist Manna Café’ Ministries in their meal distribution efforts from 6 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday, May 18, EMS will visit local daycares with ambulances for an educational and fun event for the children.

Thursday, May 19, there will be a clinical competition between those in the District 7 Homeland Security group. Events will measure skill, thought, planning and imagination. For details and rules, visit www.mcgtn.org/EMS.

Friday May 20, there will be a Barbeque Cook-off at 1003 Gratton Road. Bring your best and taste the rest! Open to all EMS, Fire and Police personnel. For details and rules, visit www.mcgtn.org/EMS.

Saturday, May 21 EMS will give back to the community and providers will assist Loaves and Fishes and Manna Café’ serve meals from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
