Double Shooting

Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a double shooting that happened Tuesday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Rossview Road and Guthrie Road.

The victims, a married couple, called 911 to report the incident and drove themselves to Tennova Medical Center.

The husband, 44, was shot in the face and is in critical condition. He was later transported to Vanderbilt.

The wife, 33, was shot in the arm and has a wound on her head where it appears a bullet may have grazed her head. She is in stable condition.

Barbara Cowdrey, 47, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Additional charges may be pending. 

Her bond is $500,000.

Based on information gathered by investigators, this is an isolated incident and the victims and suspect knew each other.
