Alert: THE LIBRARY WILL BEGIN PHASE 3 REOPENING TO THE PUBLIC AT 9:00 AM TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH. Library hours will return to normal, browsing of the entire library collection is available and patrons may check themselves out without using the holds service. Meeting room use will be allowed but greatly restricted – please contact the library at 931-648-8826 for details – NEW SIGNUPS WILL BEGIN TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH. Limited seating will be available in the library along with computer use with social distancing and enhanced cleaning. During this phase 3 period the length of which is unknown at this time, the library will continue with the suspension of all in-person programming and acceptance of donations. Masks are required for patrons to enter the library during the period of the county mayor’s executive order. The Brown Harvey, Sr. Genealogy Room is designed to assist patrons researching their family roots particularly in Montgomery County, as well as early days in other Tennessee Counties, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, and other states.  Microfilm of county records, census and newspapers of Montgomery County and other Tennessee Counties, and Death Certificates for the State of Tennessee are available as well.  There is someone to assist you at the reference desk at all times, so please just ask.
